Year 4 Trip - Chiltern Open Air Museum
Year 4 had an exciting trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum, where we were transported back in time to the world of the Anglo-Saxons! We met the chief’s wife, who taught us all about Anglo-Saxon life, including how to write our names in runes, how people wove materials to make clothes and why their buildings were designed in particular ways. During the second half of our visit, we became proper historians as we dug for artefacts and worked out which era they came from. We also explored different coins used throughout history and were shocked to discover that some coins were once square! It was a fantastic day, and we came away with lots of new knowledge about the Anglo-Saxons.
