Wednesday 30 September 2026 Year 4 Trip - Chiltern Open Air Museum Year 4 had an exciting trip to Chiltern Open Air Museum, where we were transported back in time to the world of the Anglo-Saxons! We met the chief's wife, who taught us all about Anglo-Saxon life, including how to write our names in runes, how people wove materials to make clothes and why their buildings were designed in particular ways. During the second half of our visit, we became proper historians as we dug for artefacts and worked out which era they came from. We also explored different coins used throughout history and were shocked to discover that some coins were once square! It was a fantastic day, and we came away with lots of new knowledge about the Anglo-Saxons.

Tuesday 9 June 2026 Year 2 Trip - Southend-on-Sea Year 2 had a fantastic trip to Southend-on-Sea, and despite the rainy weather, everyone had a wonderful day. The children thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Pier Museum, where they learned about the history of the famous pier, operated levers to control model trains, and had great fun playing on old-fashioned pinball and arcade machines. We then walked the entire length of Southend Pier, the longest pleasure pier in the world, which certainly meant lots of steps! Later, we visited the lifeboat station and listened to an interesting talk about the vital work carried out by the crew. The children were amazed to learn that the lifeboat team has already rescued 30 people this year and can put on their protective rescue suits in just one and a half minutes. We also had the opportunity to see the lifeboats and equipment up close. To finish our day, we enjoyed a train ride back down the pier, bringing a memorable trip to a perfect end.

Monday 18 May 2026 Reception Trip - Aldenham Park Conkers Class had a fantastic morning at Aldenham Country Park. The children loved the hands-on experience of feeding the animals, including cheeky goats and a very funny, extremely fluffy chicken! They also enjoyed dancing through the ‘dance tunnel' and clambering up and down the hay bales. The weather was beautiful too - as the snoozing pigs would certainly agree.

Friday 8 May 2026 Opal - 4 month Update! We are now four months into our OPAL Play journey and it's been lovely to see how confident the children are becoming with all the different resources and play areas now available to them. They are becoming familiar with how different zones can be used and are beginning to makethoughtful choices about where and how they play. The tyre swing and den building remain popular, and we are about to start ‘Games Fridays' – where instead of football a sports activity is run on the field by a playleader for those who wish to join; be it rounders, cricket or races.

Friday 8 May 2026 Sir David Attenborough's 100th Birthday! Celebrating 100 years of David Attenborough. Our whole school has been marking this wonderful milestone with exciting class activities inspired his incredible work, celebrating nature, wildlife, and the world around us. Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David!
