Conkers Trip - Aldenham Park
Conkers Class had a fantastic morning at Aldenham Country Park. The children loved the hands-on experience of feeding the animals, including cheeky goats and a very funny, extremely fluffy chicken! They also enjoyed dancing through the ‘dance tunnel’ and clambering up and down the hay bales. The weather was beautiful too - as the snoozing pigs would certainly agree.
The children showed great curiosity as they explored and completed their walk around 100 Aker Wood. However, they were very disappointed (and a little worried!) not to find Tigger’s house. They wondered if he had fallen out with his friends!
Back at school, they decided to write an email to the farm - well, Winnie the Pooh - expressing their concern. Luckily, they received a quick reply explaining that the wood at Aldenham was built in 1996 by Blue Peter and is based on the original A.A. Milne storybooks, rather than the Disney adaptations. That in the original stories, Tigger does not have his own house and instead lives with Kanga and Roo- phew!
We did, however, go back with one more important question… why isn’t Tigger’s name on the map with Kanga and Roo?
